Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the closure of Raider Ridge Cafe.

Twenty years ago an ambitious Fort Lewis College graduate set out to combine his love of bicycling, healthy living and this amazing town we call Durango into a business that would serve and support our community for years to come. Calling on local farmers and businesses, Jarrod Regan established a local gem that would embody the essence of this wonderful town.

Jarrod provided healthy, delicious food and refreshing smoothies, all at affordable prices and in a welcoming space for any and all. He showcased amazing art from local artists, provided jobs, supported local farms and businesses, and did it all with a sense of integrity that was truly inspiring.

Nine years ago Jarrod decided to pass that torch, and my wife and I were honored to carry on that legacy. Over time, we've gone through many ups and downs, but throughout it all, we have always been so grateful to be a part of this experience and to have been a part of the lives of every person who came through our doors.

Over all that time, it was all of you who made the cafe what it was. The memories, conversations, routines established, and bellies filled. Every single experience had at the cafe by every soul experiencing it made this place what it was.

And now, I do not take lightly the decision to close these doors. Without someone else to carry the torch, it is time for me to set it down. I think every day of the people who have touched my life through the cafe, which makes this such a difficult decision. But I have to move on.

Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to be a part of your lives, no matter how much or how little. I will always appreciate each and every one of you.

Like Farquarts, Sweeney’s, Lady Falconburgs, The Irish Embassy, CJ’s Diner, Flanders and so many others, Raider Ridge Cafe will live on in our memories.

Thank you all for twenty wonderful years of community, kindness, and support.

Take care, Friends.
